Regarding dealership, and hazard + r. defrost switch
I recently had a system installed in my car, and I was reading up on the illumination of the hazard and rear defrost switch because I know that both illuminated before. I was doing some reasearch and found out that the bulbs placed inside both switches are quite sensitive and when people take apart their dash to work on stuff, or install things, the bulbs move out of place. One guy actually tapped his dash the left side of his dash, and got the switches to work. Since I don't have much of a choice and am real **** about my car I took my car to the dealership, I actually took to the dealership after my trusty mechanic checked it out. Both switches are doing their job, so they're obviously getting power. However; the orange light, nor the illumination caused by the bulbs is working. So this would result in the bulbs being misplaced inside the switch and this probably happened during the install since they're ovbiously so fragile. To make a long story short I'm out 220 dollars for the switches and labor thanks to the stealership. I was like ok whatever just do it. So this Friday they're going to put in the switches. Sucks

I have the same problem as you and it bothers me as well. Let me know if getting new switches solves the problem, but are they really that expensive? Did you JUST pay for two switches and labor? If so, I could learn to live with it.
And maxima_se007--I don't see those switches on Ebay. Are you sure it's on there?
I'm hoping it is the dam switches, and the reason I'm paying the 220 (which I have) is to make sure that Nissan is FULLY RESPONSIBLE. In other words they have to make them work no matter if it's an electrical problem, or switch problem. I read on a previous thread relating to the subject that the bulbs are positioned weird hence when people take out their dash 9 times out of the 10 those switches stop illuminating. I will keep you informed.

If the switches do their job I.E. putting on your blinkers, and defrosting your rear window and just not illuminating then would this possibly result in a short of the wires? I mean how lose are the bulbs in the switches in them? I mean would taking apart the dash result in the bulbs being misplaced inside the switch. I can still take my money back. Help me out here
the bulbs in the switches are not loose. they are just burned out or defective. i checked all the continuity of the bulbs before i replaced them to make sure. none of them were good they were all burnt out. easliy raplaced them. if you want me to send em' out to you sidewinder i can take a pic of them for you lit up and not lit up. or if your in the new york city area you could see them for yourself. or if you want them you could have them harris for 40 bucks

*Update* First off my father got laid off pray that he finds a job
, I picked up the parts off of Nissan, and I was like I'll install them myself, so I did and they're working, so yes it is the bulbs that go out, and yes I should've bought them off of you
