Engine and fuel system cleaners

I recently bought a 96 Maxima with just under 70k miles. I did a transmission flush, changed oil (put synthetic), etc. Now my question is should I put some kind of engine and/or fuel system cleaner in it? Which brand would you recommend?

I recommend valvoline fuel system cleaner. Ive used it and i definetly felt a difference as did a friend of mine who drives a focus. It seems to work pretty well and i put a bottle in every oil change or so.

Re: Engine and fuel system cleaners

Use Outlaw fuel system cleaner and Octane booster. Comes only in a 32 oz. can. Use it through two full tanks of gas.

Also use Marvel Mystery oil. At least 6 oz. in your gas tank.

Marvel is a high detergent oil that is great on valves, injectors,
cylinder walls, everything.

Helps burn the carbon off the whole combustion chamber. For those times when your driving like on the highway!

I can tell u that the small bottle of Greased Lightning Engine Treatment is the best. I hear Mystery Oil is good, but haven't tried it. Greased Lightning will smooth out ur engine, and u can feel at any engine speed. It's like silk. But after about 75k miles, nothing helps ur engine's internals stay clean like a Motor Flush (Advance/ Discount Auto Parts). It'll disolve all the gunk off of ur valves and oil pan (warning: Motor Flush is dilluted Diesel w/ cleaners in it. Do not use at every oil change. Allow at least 15k miles bet'n flushes)

For fuel, if u've never done it, use Greased Lightning. I promise it's the strongest cleaner u can find. But for that same reason, u shouldn't need to use it more than 2x a year. In bet'n u can use STP Consentrated Fuel Injector Cleaner (the black bottle), very effective cleaner. I use it every month and a half. But again, if u've never done it or can't remember when was the last time u cleaned the injectors, use Greased Lightning.

dont mean to ***** up yyour thread, but is flushing your engine bad for high mileage cars and their seals-just something I heard. I use STP super concentrated fuel injector cleaner every month or two and it seems to help a bit.
