O.K., so I painted my calipers (silver), and know I notice a lot more how ugly the centers of the rotors are. You know, the rusty part. So I was thinking about taking the rust off with naval jelly and painting them black. Has anybody tried this, and if so, how did it turn out? Is there any reason no to do it? Will I ever be satisfied with my car how it is? (I hope not.)

i don't see any reason why it wouldnt work but use hi-temp paint as the temps on the brakes get very high. As long as you use engine paint like what you use on calipers, i dont see any problem with having paint there, as long as it doesnt get on the rotor.

The stuff is incredible. I use it on my boat all the time, it just dissolves rust in a matter of minutes. Just don't get it on your hands.
