swap '03 SE for FX-35
swap '03 SE for FX-35
Generally, I am no SUV fan but I must say that the Infiniti FX-35 is a remarkable looking beast--to my eye. I was surprised to see that they a 2wd FX is priced about the same as a gen6 maxima. AWD is just $1500 more. Anyone ever driven one? What did you think? The exhaust sounds great--much better than stock corvette or viper. Agree?
head over to freshalloy.com forums. There are alot of FX owners who have had maximas. While the FX will be larger than your maxima, most people remark about the FX having very little body roll and a great suspension, so it will still feel sporty. You already know the VQ, so that will be the same.
yeah those are hott rides. i like the look of them. they have good perfromance numbers too from what i've been reading. i think its one of the fastest besides the bootleg porsche cayenne (however you spell the damn thing) but yeah hot ride..
I don't know where the idea came from that...
they cost about as much as a 6th Gen!!
Base MSRP for cheapest '04 Max - $27490
Base MSRP for cheapest FX35 - $34745
BEFORE OPTIONS!!!!
We won't even discuss the FX45 (over $44K).

i agree i think the fx's are definitely menacing, i definitely stop and stare whenever i see one on the road....they must only come in black though
(or maybe that's just me wishing they only came in black)...hot ride...

I'm glad I wasn't the only person to scratch the record on that one. The chances of ever finding a stripped down one are miniscule anyway. The FX45 is my dream autombobile right now, I defintely break my neck when I see one around, though. Sweet looking ride.
FX35 is selling below MSRP, I've seen 2wd advertised at $31,000. Yes, it is a bit more than a gen6 maxima. It's also an Infiniti which adds some value. Stock exhaust on FX35 sounds nothing like any VQ35 I've heard. I was stunned by crackle it makes when it first fires.
Surely the FX was styled by an external group... no way could the FX have come out of the same design house as the gen6 Oldsmobile--er... I mean maxima.

AND have you seen the prices on the 'Technology Package' option in order to get the real goodies???
Where have you seen 2wd models? I've been looking at dealer inventories (online mind you) and they only had FX35 AWD. There wasn't one under $40K. The option package to get the 20's is somewhat reasonable though ($3900).

There is a pretty nice torque difference though. Yeah, not enough for me to shell out about $10K more for basically the same vehicle.

I do like how that key card has trickled down though.
I WANT a FX35 and they invoice at $32K w/AWD, so I can get one without all the BS goodies for within $500.
Plus, it's got the G35 COUPE engine with 280hp/270tq, the ATESSA AWD system(ala GTR), and a 5spd auto w/manual shift mode. Throw on the ATI Procharger($6K intercooled) or Greddy TWIN 18G turbo kit and it will still be cheaper then a FX45.
Now I just need to scrape together $32K to get the 1.9% interest.

FX - $32K
Max SE- $24K
Still a WIDE margin between the two.
