03 Maxima - hid stolen. how do I stop it from happening again

My friend had the HID headlights stolen out of her 03 Maxima while it was in her driveway. She was so upset she was ready to sell the car. After calming her down, I told her I'd see if there was someting that could be done.
Well, is there anything that can be done? Can it be converted to non HID headlights so no one trys to steal them again? Can they be secured from the inside so they can't be removed without even opening the hood?
Who else has gone through this?
Help....

You can get a different car. You can put in non-HID lights. Other than that, pretty much anything you try will likely end up causing more damage as thieves get ****ed and start really ripping the crap out of the front end.

i heard of people putting in 2k 2k1 headlights because those are non hid. she could also get a pager alarm, like the matrix rs3 or viper 790. my cousin has one and its sick. the hood and trunk sensors are real sesnitive. im actually gonna buy one soon...if you want more info on the alarm let me know...

There are two different threads about this same topic in this forum, go there since they have a lot of responses as to the problem your friend finds herself in.

I'm not being an a$$ or nothing, but its too much to write over when you can just read and learn about the problem.

yeah, if she goes through insurance, which she probably should.. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to just buy the 2001 AE headlights and a HID conversion kit, then pocket the difference (which will be more than enough to at least pay the deductable and have extra leftover). Nobody would know she has a HID kit in there so most theives wouldnt even think about stealing them.

rewiring if you change over to 2k-2k1 lights and aftermarket HID kits dont' have high beams unless you get the ones with a solenoid ( dual beam) kits
