"We got a first timer over here!"

Well, I went to 1320 last night. Unfortunately they don't give slips, but I wanted to go anyway and I did. My first run (ever) was ironically my best. I don't remember all my times, but the first was the only one to brag about.

I have a 98SE 5 speed with Y/I/B and I was on stock tire pressure, stock rims, full size spare and a box with 2 10's in the back. No one remembered my speed and like I said, I have no slip, but my first run was a 15.01!!! I couldn't believe it. I was psyched for the next few runs and I figured I could break into 14's with no problem.

Well, I let some air out of my tires (down to 20psi) and my next 3-4 runs were all AWFUL. 16 seconds and up ... I was dancing all over the track when WOT in 1st and 2nd gear. It was clearly not the best track, but I think I just need to get more familiar with my 1st and 2nd gears. Also, next time, I'm hoping someone will be there to leave my spare and sub box with or at least the box. I think with better driving and no box, I could probably get into the 14.7 range which would have beat most of the kids out there last night.

Oh, and, one more thing. I'm WAYYYYY too old to be out there for Club 1320 Everyone there was 16-18 years old. I'm not that old, but I did feel out of place.

They don't give slips??? I would never go to a track like that. How do you know what is going on if you can see your times and mph broken down??

Anyway, congrats on the 15 sec pass.

I hear ya. It's a local event to get all the kids off the road and onto the track. It's called Club 1320 and they do it the last friday of every month or something. I've been trying to get to the track SO many times and it either rains or something else comes up. My friends were all going and asked if I wanted to go, so I went. Soon enough I'll have slips and videos because I really enjoyed myself and I'd like to try and improve.

weighed some stuff up

I gutted my trunk a while back, and got out some weighing scales. This is just a list im keeping to have an idea how much weight I have taken off from the beginning.

Here are my findings.

1. Spare Tire: 24 lbs
2. (2)12"subs in box: 65 lbs.
3. AMP: 10 lbs.
4. Jack, tiretools, and case: 4.5 lbs
5. Piece that holds jack: .4 lbs if that

Other Junk

6. Trunk carpet, cardboard: 6 lbs
7. Headrest: 3 lbs.
8. Floormats: 9 lbs.

Weight Swap

9. Stock Pulley minus UR UDP: 3.2 lbs
10. Stock Intake (res box, blower) minus frankencar: 3.3lbs

-128.4

According to http://lighter.maxdes.net/

11. Stock Y Pipe minus aftermarket Y Pipe: 15 lbs.
12. Stock Catback minus Aftermarket: 7.5 lbs.
13. Stock cat minus test pipe: 3 lbs.
14. 1 Underbody Hitch: 1 lbs.
15. Take out Manual: 1 lbs.
16. Took out stereo recevier ( temporary until i get a new one: 7 lbs

-162.9

17. New Rims on the way: 28.8 lbs

Total as of next week:

-191.7

Of course this is just a rough estimate, and its also about the best I can do with limited knowledge but you can certainly check out that link and see if there are any easy things you can do to get rid of weight.

Now on the buying side of things im actually interested in a Dynobat dry cell battery, Carbon fiber hood, and racing seats. Thats almost another 100 pounds.

Anyways I thought some of this stuff was just easy junk to take out on raceday.
