It appears we aren't the only ones with HID theft

Ouch.. This kind of thing makes me wish that it was possible to attach a small hand grenade inside the light with a pin that would detach upon "improper" removal of the lights.

Oh it will Pi$$ me off if Subaru do something about this and all us 2k2 and 2k3 Maxima owners have to just suffer,

If Subaru does something about this, if in case it does become a rampant occurence, than Nissan will step up to the plate too, just to save face.

Only the STI models come with HIDs. Are the Evos next?

I kinda doubt it because the car is rare itself unlike the Maxima. But the STi does scream attention like "look at me" so it will always be a target
