Would drivetrain warranty cover active motor mount failure?
I posted a thread yesterday about my motor mount adventures. I'm just wondering if the long-term drivetrain warranty would cover the repair.
By the way, I still don't accept the dealer's explanation that the active motor mount 'motor' failed and it needs to be replaced. The mount's motor was running as the car was just sitting in the driveway, no key in the ignition. So it seems to me that it's a welded-closed relay or the ECU is continually giving the motor a run command. I'll check the Haynes manual schematic. I'd love if it's simply a relay.
Also, the dealer just disconnected the motor's plug. He couldn't tell me in what position the active motor mounts would then be.
But I'm pretty sure it's now in hard mode for driving ( vs. soft, for idle ) since I get more vibration feel at the steering wheel. I suppose that's better than being stuck in the soft mode.
