get the greddy evo
you still not be disappointed
check the F/S section. someone in VA selling a greddy EVO for 300
mine is very quiet, and gives a nice humming sound. everyone says it's pretty quiet, even at full throttle not loud at all. at around 2k, you get a little noise, but then it gets quiet as you go higher or lower on the rpm.
i wish i could record the noise for you. i't snot bad at all.

I have the OBX exhaust and it sounds awesome...
ppl say it sounds just like the greddy but a fraction of the cost...
There was a group deal going on and i got mine for 273 shipped...
It sounds awesome...i would suggest you get that and the stillen rear valance becuase it just makes it look even better...IMO
I will get some pics of my ride toniught and put them up on my website..
They both sound awesome but its up to you...
I thinkif you get the greddy your payin for the name...the OBX is stainless steel so it won't rust either...
Hope that helps...
Peace bro

heard the same...obx gets a tad TOO droney. but that's everyones personal opinion.
i will attempt to get a clip of my exhaust in various positions (that sounds too ****-ish )

-turning on
-idle then revving
-drive by, taping from a standstill
-driving slowy, then acceleration, from inside

i think i have some free time...i think i'll do it...WOOO HOOO

hmmm..... Very tough decision.

Pro and Cons of each

Greddy Evo
Pros
Smooth as silk, and quiet like stock
Sounds wicked from the outside (Pioneer described as 350Z and I agree)
With windows up, nothing but a smooth hum.
Idle reving sounds good but is not pronounced.
Only gets noticable at redline.
Easy add-on for those with sensitive ears
Cons
Doesn't sound agressive inside the car
May not be loud enough for some (Y-pipe, Headers, or B-pipe will fix that)
Some droning with low rpms and heavy throttle
Some might not like single big tip (I love it)

HKS
Pros
Sounds are deep and very pronounced
Idle reving is addictive
No droning at all
Sounds warm all the time (not loud, not quiet)
Very loud at redline
Sounds like the Maxima is breathing fire and ready to kick azz!
Cons
Constant sound all the time can be annoying
You will not have a luxury ride anymore
Radio volume will be much higher on average
"Why are all these people staring at me?"

My personal thought. I love the idle reving on the HKS and the stock smoothness of the Greddy. For me both catbacks look sweet and performance boost on both is about the same. I didn't drive the Greddy hard but I have a feeling performance from the straight through design will yield better gains. HKS growl is very pronounced and scary for others on the road, yet Greddy will certainly let you know it is there when you get on it. Droning on Greddy is noticable and constant sound from HKS eventually will get annoying.

Both are extremely high quality catbacks from two different worlds. Single tip or dual tip, Loud or stock-quiet, Aggressive or smooth, wicked or refined, it is up to you.

If I had to make a choice no matter what, I still don't know what I would do. To add to the review, maybe I will ride in the passenger seat of the Greddy with some WOT treatment. Either way you will not go wrong with either one.

Loud?

On a stock 2k2/2k3 the Greddy Evo is quiet. And if you still consider that to be loud, don't even bother looking for a HKS. You will think it is a rock concert.

Most of what you hear in Polo's vid are the Injen intake. I have the Injen and stock muffler and at WOT it gets loud. The Evo by itself is not loud until the top of the gear and only then does it become "noticable".
