Brake Caliper Seized on my 2k2 Today!!!

Driving down the freeway this morning, I begin to feel getting sluggish and then I start hearing a whomp whomp whomp noise. Similar to a flat tire. I pull over and can't find the problem until I get close to my right, rear wheel and the thing is almost GLOWING HOT!!!! I call roadside assitance and they tow the thing to my dealer. So far they told me it's a defective caliper and they are overnighting a new one. Should be fixed tomorrow!! I wonder if this is related to the brake rotor warp problem??!?!?!???

YIKES! I doubt its related to the rotor warp problem. But possibly...that's odd that a caliper just froze like that. Did they say it was a bad seal or something?

Definately have them do your rotor. If it got hot enough to glow followed by a relatively quick cool down it's toast.

No word from the dealer yet!! I just tried and my service rep is out. Thanks for the Rotor heads Up. I want to make sure they replace that. When they first called me they just said that it was a caliper problem. I will ask what went wrong and update!! I guess I feel kind of lucky since this is my first "real" warranty claim. Not bad for 2 years and 20k miles.
