Rates here in Omaha for $200/gallon paint and labor:

Same color:$2000

Metallic color (different than OEM) Pearl Blue Metallic: $4000 on up

Oh yeah, Don't forget the Clearcoat!!! That's $200 a gallon for that sheeiit also. I just had bits and pieces painted (door moldings, rear bumper, etc) and it was still like $600!

one thing you shouldnt do

one thing you shouldnt do is go to maaco, they are cheap but the quailty is not that good. you are better off going to some mom and pop locally owned store.

Maaco gives a 50/50 paint job... looks good from 50 feet or 50 mph. They already covered my front bumper with a not-quite Pebble Beige. I wouldn't go back there.

I've actually seen some Maaco jobs that didn't look half bad. And I've also seen expensive paintjobs done by supposedly good shops that looked horrible. The shop that did my wing, they have beautiful show cars that are immaculate. But they did the worst job ever on my wing, and a lot of people I know won't go there anymore because of the shoddy work. Lots of shops are hit or miss, some of the cars they do are perfect and others are bad. My advice is to find out where all the nice show cars are painted, like the top notch ones, not the ghetto ones you see at local shows. Too many guys around here have custom painted cars that look nice from far away, but then up close you realize that there's overspray, blotchiness, orange peel, etc.
