Grip the road

Permit myself to introduce...myself. I have a '97 I30. I have read where several Max drivers have said thier cars don't handle as well as other cars in the turns. Mines is still stock, but I do OK in the turns. Obviously, not as well as smaller, lighter cars ala Audi A4 or BMW 3xx. But those mini rides run on Z rated tires right out of the box.

But for you boosted, blown or otherwise modified maxmen, what rubber are you running on?

I am running on almost completely worn down Toyo Proxes T1-S. I love them, however, the front tires are almost officially worn out. Time for new ones.....

I'm on Falken Ziex Z12s. A little road noise but grippy in the twisties in auto X. On long sweeps in a loop adhesion is at its limit and will make you work the steering wheel. For daily driver duties its ok. Next set I will try out Kumho Ecstas.

As per my sig!

The driver's side is worn out to near-flat since I tend to take off/on-ramps at full blast Good setup, aside from wheel hop that I get at the end of 1st if the tires are cold... but once they are warm, they stick like glue!
