CD Player ticks like a bomb
CD Player ticks like a bomb
2000 Max SE w/ Bose.
Whenever I put in a CD that isn't 100% scratch free (few of mine are), I get a constant tick tick tick tick tick sound as the CD plays. I realize that this is partially because I have abused some CDs but they play fine on my home stereo and even on a walkman.
Will using a cleaning CD clear this up? Is there anything I can do to make this thing less sensitive to scratches and smudges on the CD?

Are these CDR's that you are talking about? I sometimes have this problem also. I burn CD's all the time, and it seems to come from my CDR's only, more of every brand except Memorex. I often waste alot CD's because of this, because I have to burn multiple CD's until I find a good one. I cleaned my CD laser in my car, but that doesn't help. I think it's the CD's themselves.
