Back Calapier Wont Go In Need Help!!!

Back Calapier Wont Go In Need Help!!!

yeah i tried to change my rear brakes today but when i took off the caliper it whould'nt go back in.I tried a clamp, hammering, i even took it off and it still whould'nt, has this happen to anyone where it whould not go in please help.

Go to napa or autozone and ask them for a caliper tool. It's a little square thing you put on a ratchet. The calipers need to be turned clockwise until they fit over the rotors. It costs $13...

thank you very much i was kicking my self i should of bought a chilton book but it say 95-98 but it should be the same right?'Caplier tool' gotcha

Don't use pliers, I used pliers to push the piston back in and ended up having blisters in my hand. Ending up going to autozone to buy the damn piston tool to push it back in.

Yes, having the proper too would be "best".
BTW, the "spin in" piston retractors cost quite a bit more than the simple "disc brake spreader".

Pliers don't work that well. The edges aren't perfectly square so you'll just end up stripping them even more...

Mine went right back when we were working on them with that little caliper retractor tool for $13 or whatever it was. Square thingy...AdvancedAuto

Did you take the cap off of your brake fluid resevoir? I forgot to do that last time and it took me forever to figure out why it woudln't go back in.
