Pads rubbing against the rotors
Pads rubbing against the rotors
Guys,
I have metal master pads. They were squealing a lot so I added some anti-squeal compound between the pads and the shims. Now my car feels a lot slower. Is it possible that the pads are rubbing against the rotors? My rpm vs. speed is pretty much the same and my gas mileage hasn't really changed at all.
Thanks.

most likely, they are rubbing in the rear. It could be 2 things, you have shims on the pads and reinstalled the factory shims (2 sets on each pad), or the rear pads are too thick and you gotta grind them down or wear them thinner.
Maybe you misunderstood. I'm wondering if by putting the compound between the pads and the shims like you're supposed to, it creates too much space and pushes the pads against the rotors.
As stated earlier, They may have not taken out the OEM shims or the pads may be to thick. I got the stealin pads (i know they didnt put the shims in,cause they gave em to me in a box), and the rears were too thick. I had to get them sanded a bit for them to work right. Otherwise they just rubbed until they smoked, which is BAD.
