Got a question. Between the 2k-2k1 SE guages and the 2k2+ SE guages which one's do u think look best. Also is it possible to switch the white fuel and temp backgrounds from a 2k SE to the 2K2SE guage clustor

i don't know, i have the all black one since I have a gle....but I think it would look hot if I had a brushed aluminum bezel

I just installed a I35 guage cluster on my I30.

 

I like the '00/'01 SE guages better than the '02/'03 ones.

All four of the guages have a titanium face whereas on the '02/'03, only the speedometer and tachometer have the special face. Looks uneven to me. Just my two-cents.

if i got a 2000gle and i want the 2000se gauges where do i buy the se cluster from could i just get one from the junk yard then have the dealership recalorbrate it

 

Yeah. you could get one from a junkyard. I have heard that you can take it to a dealer and the consult II can be used to set the mileage or they may have to send it off. ANother option is that I have seen members actually remove thier guts of the guage cluster and "transplant" then into the SE guages. I tried to find it, but i can seem to see it anywhere but I have seen it done.


My question is, is it possible to get the 2k2+ SE fuel and temp guage titanium color like the speedo and tach?

 

My local junkyard wanted 220 for the 2k SE guage cluster. Is that a rip? They're that much brand new IIRC.


BTW, can ANYONE scan their guages for me at 300 or 600 dpi? I wanna try something...

 

Since you have access to the back of this cluster, Do you know how it is lit? Is it just plain bulbs? If so, are the needles seperate from the rest. I want to change the needles to red and leave everything else. Is this possible?

I think it is lit with leds not bulbs. They are bright as hell.

 

I thought they were electroluminescent.
