Brembo Rotors VS Nissan Specs

Hi, Everyone.

I had some questions about Brembo rotors and their application to the 5th generation Maxima.

I just got the following rotors in a group deal:

'00/'01 Maxima
Brembo Global Part Numbers:
Front - 09.7933.10
Rear - 08.8065.10

Anyway, looking at the width of the rotors which is etched on the side of the rotors, it looks as if the rears are 8mm wide and the fronts are 24mm wide. These numbers, however, are the minimum widths as per Nissan specifications for the '00/'01 Maxima. Anyone with Brembo rotors ever notice this? Doesn't that mean that if I ever had to tune these rotors, there wouldn't be much, if any, surface space to work with?

Also, I've always wondered what makes Brembo rotors so much more highly regarded than many other brands. Blanks to blanks, what's the difference? The quality of metal used?

I'm not trying to harp on the rotors I got. I believe I got a great deal on them since I had them slotted and zinc-plated as well. I just had those questions about them.

Thanks.

When the .ORG changed its look a few months back, they were offering several deals where one of them was to pay for a custom status, a custom avatar, a mousepad (featuring Kevin's 5th gen and Jane's 4th gen), and a bottlecap opener. It was cheap, so I went for it. I found the animated Superman logo GIF on the internet, cropped it down to size, submitted it to the .ORG as my avatar...and there we go. Fun.

Now... Bump...

Can anyone answer the questions I had with my original post regarding the Brembo rotors?

Peace.
