Got pen ink stained on my door!!! (exterior)

Well, a couple days ago at school a pen apparently bursted in my pocket, and when I went to open my car door, the ink from my hand (that was resting on the door got on the car. Now there is a little stained blotch that is copper in color. I tryed using car soap to get it off, didnt work. I scraped gently with my finger nail and it smeared it around some, but nothing really changed. What can I do to get this off??

It's just rubbing compound. You can get it al Kmart or Walmart. You should definitely be able to get it at your local Autozone or Poop Boys.

Coke will work too. It's very acidic, some people use it to clean battery terminals.

I know that. I know some rescue workers use cocacola to clean the blood off roads in traffic accidents. It's amazing how people can put that in their bodies...

anyways, so cola wouldn't damage my clearcoat?

#1 way to get pen ink out...use rubbing alcohol.

it's safe on the paint...dab some on a clean cloth and blot it off. if u don't believe me write on your hand and get it off w/ alcohol..you'll see it'll just come out.

i'm serious.

also rubbing compound and waxes might smear the ink.

a) Try a tar remover first
b) Try rubbing alcohol as DanNY said
c) if that doesn't work, try mineral spirits

I'd vote against rubbing compound. 1st solution is a bug and tar remover, 2nd solution rubbing alcohol. 3rd solution is a paint thinner-be very careful with that.

Sell your car and get a Camaro. That is really your only option at this point.

Do not use paint thinner, I stripped the H3ll out of my paint one time. I had to get the whole quarter panel repainted.

it's called "paint thinner" for a reason.

don't know why 1/2 you guys are telling him to use that.

Your best bet is a hammer and chisel. If that doesn't work, try goo-gone.

OK all BSing aside the best way I know of to remove ink stains from a car exterior is

1. Lemon Juice (use a fresh lemon)
2. Hairspray (nothing to strong)

Those should work fine.

Good Luck

not sure about lemon juice..

the reason why hair spray works is due to the alcohol content in it.

The alcohol worked, but I'm hoping saturating a towel area and soaking it a bit does better than rubbing like I started, but out of the mass I had I only have two small areas left. I will get compound for those and get the rest out. Thanks all
