30K vs. 45K services
30K vs. 45K services
Hey Guys,
My 2K GLE is slightly overdue for it's 30K service. The dealer is charging $359.95 for the 30K, 299.96 for the 45K. The 45K is missing brake fluid, fuel filter, Cooling system Flush. However, it includes tranny fluid. Should I just get the 45K service and either do the rest myself ,or itemize it on top of the 45K service? Or, should I get the 30K service and then pay separately for the tranny flush/change.
Lastly, is it best to have these performed at the dealer or at a local reputable import shop. If it's a shop, anyone know any reputable ones in Atlanta, GA?
Many thanks,
Matt

30K service? 45K service? I'm at 72K and still haven't gone to the dealer for service.
...but that's because I do almost all the major maintenance for the car myself.
Motor oil changes, transmission fluid drains, air filer changes, fuel injection cleaner, spark plug change, tire rotation...all myself. Brakes components by my friend who is a mechanic. And wheel balances at the store I bought new tires from. All relatively inexpensive and/or easy to do. I'll wait until my car is around the 100K to 120K mark to bring it in for a full service. In the meantime, the car still runs and looks nice and smooth.
If you don't tend to do those things yourself, bring it to a shop you might trust. If you go directly to Nissan, you might as well fill your wallet with money, open it up in front of them, and close your eyes.

It's a dealer, but I had a good experience.
I've been reading the SE forum for ATL shops, seems there is a quite a few.
How does the forum feel about Manny, Moe, and Jack for fluid/filter changes, etc etc...is this insulting?
