came home from track

well tonite i didnt do drop register mod but ill do that next week...i did manual shift on all 4 runs that i did went from 1-2-3 shiftin at around 6300rpm each time...my lsat run i mis shifted and messed up and got terrible time but for first timers i think i did ok....and to let you kno why my R/T is so bad, I didn't know that you go on the 3rd yellow light i always left when it turned green and wondered why they were cheatin and goin before it turned green and i lost all 4 races...first car i ran he ran a 12.934 and 2nd car i ran did a 10.204 and the 3rd ran a 12.261...those damn domestics i tell you....4th one i lost to a civic but that was my fault heres my times:

1st 2nd 3rd 4th
R/T - .961 1.206 1.490 0.615
60' - 2.199 2.209 2.264 2.261
330 - 6.270 6.286 6.365 6.361
1/8 - 9.601 9.615 9.699 9.712
MPH - 74.61 74.56 74.42 74.16
1000 - 12.475 12.480 12.580 12.597
1/4 - 14.917 14.917 15.029 15.083
MPH - 92.78 92.94 92.48 91.17

as you can see i learned when to go after my 3rd run talkin to some ppl on the org that was there but i had no traction wtih my crappy potenzas on which i deflated to about 26-27psi after the2nd run and my car had about 200-300pound sof junk in the trunk includin my subs and alot of shoes and my rsb which i didnt install yet...this was just a practice run for me and my first until we have our track meet next week

Hey come on, I've done it once before. As odd as it sounds, it's possible in an Automatic. hehe I was bracket racing in the 1st round of a major NHRA Sport Compact bracket race and the other guy redlighted in his SRT-4. Since he was faster than me, I was ahead of him already racing in my 1st gear. When i saw my win light come on, I knew he redlighted, I got so excited and shifted my car into 2nd gear, but I hit it too hard and it slipped into N, I hit my rev limiter instantly, let off, shifted into 2nd gear and just raced the rest of the way. hehe... it's funny when someone says they mis-shift and auto. BTW, I went 5 rounds that day and tied for 3rd. Not too bad when 59 racers come from all over the West Pacific coast to race this event.

LOL....those are pretty darn good times considering.

Well, he was running a 14.9 with all the crap in the car. You gain about a tenth for every 100 lb that you drop, and you also can pickup a little on your 60' time as well. A 14.6 would have been very possible, maybe even a 14.5. I think the quickest stock automagic time here is still blu's 14.6, but even that was in 80 degree weather which means the cars will go faster.

maybe 14.5 is pushing it ..but you know it goes to show how serious some people get and how others enjoy themselves without being so serious .

i know i clean out every cent, nickel and dime, all trash, and clean evey last spec !! you would never find all that in the chariot ..! you know i have to drive 75-130 miles one way to the tracks I go to so im trying to make it count !

i just dont believe i could come close to mid 14's with a sub box and spare and rear seat and all .

200-300lbs? I find it hard to believe that subs, 20 pairs 1lb shoes, and 17lb RSB can weigh 200lb-300lb, but if you say so. I'll never understand why people go to the track and with loose heavy items like this sitting in their car. What's the point of racing then? It seems like an excuse if you ask me. If you think it slowed you down, why not take it out before racing Sorry if I sound like an a$$, but I just don't understand it.

ok maybe 14.5 is pushing it.. the 04 max is about 200 pnds hevier than the 02 and 03 and i ran a 14.6.. i think he can run a 14.8 or a 14.7 with a great launch and an empty car.. so who knows good luck next time

well thats understandable. but i see no point in taking out back seats and such because you dont drive on the street without a backseat. i mean if you have a bet against somebody thats different but i see no point in doing that nonsense.

I totally agree that yanking interiors is a bit extreme, but I don't understand running a car with all the loose items in the trunk. Leave the spare and jack in, but yank the stuff that's loose in the trunk.

nice 60' times! definatly do the drop resistor mod and let us know if you see a difference shifting. 200 lbs of stuff doesnt help the times any either - i think its about .1 seconds per 100 lbs, give or take. Congrats tho!

Blubyu2k2 has it 13.8xx in his auto... so low 14's are definatly feasable for an auto 2k2/3

i believe a auto can do a 14.5!! but u where running a 14.9 so it would be alot of practice to get to a 14.5 for u... now i know an auto can do mid 14s with ease with a good driver... does anyone know what an auto 03 g35 coupe runs?

Two or three hundred pounds? That would make him about the same weight as a 2k4, lose the weight and it would be almost as fast as a 2k4 too! Not bad.

Too me it's all about getting down the track as fast as possible. I take everything out that is not too much of a PITA to put back in. I usually run with no front seat, spare, jack or rear bench. the rear bench is a little pointless, it does not even weigh 10lbs. My race weight is 3150 with me in the car and less than 1/4 tank of gas.

I saw a g35c auto run a 14.2 @ 98 stock. Same track I have seen numerous 350z auto and manual run 14.5-15.5 @ 92-96. Some drivers can run others need to practice a hell of a lot more.

low 14's are no problem for me with full interior and running on 18's. Once it cools off I should hit 13's on street tires, and thats before headers and ecu
