Please give you opinion. Which are better in the NE for all around driving...rain, & snow

Trying to decide between Falken Ziex ZE 512 vs Bridgestone Turanza LS-H.

 

check out tirerack ratings. they're pretty much dead on.

 

if i may, I would like to add a 3rd tire in your list.

I don't know the pricing of yours but this is around 130 a tire at Costco.

It is BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS - it is a great all season tire, I only heard great comments on it from my friend which I recomended it to ("I finally have control of my car") and I read about it on other forums.

Have the Falken 512....they are great...no snow yet.

My 235/45-17 Falken Ziex 512s are rather noisy on the road.

how about bridgestone potenza RE950. Are any good they got a good rating at tirerack.

 

I had falkens on mine. They are going like crazy here; Warehouses are out of stock on them I had to get some Yokohomo A550s I think they are called. I loved the falkens they have that thicker side wall for rim protection too. I miss them. I think my Yokohomos are louder than the Falkens I had.

 

The thicker side walls are pretty good up to a point. If you're too close to a curb you will still gouge your rim edges if you're not careful.

 

i think Falkens are more of a budget brand. I rather go with Bridgestones based on the name alone..

but for NE driving, i haven't heard much about either one of these tires as great all season rubber.

Depending on the size, I'd look into Sumitomo, Dunlop and Bridgestone "high performance all season" style.. or ultra high performance all season.

 

Thanks so far to all. I did look them up on tirerack and the Bridgestones had a great rating. The Falkens are not carried at the site so of coarse nothing was written about them.

I also did see Consumers Reports.

 

i have the falkens on now, theyre a bit noisy but a good tire overall (dunno about snow since im in cali). before these i had dunlop (sport a2's i believe) and i would have to say the dunlops seem a teeny bit better in wet weather, i also have to mention they were nearly bald when i had them too

 

I don't think they'll be good in the snow because of the tread design. I'd switch to my Blizzaks when they forecast snow.
As for wet weather I didn't feel that confident when it comes to hydroplaning. Mind you my tire pressure may have been a bit low at the time (35lbs, now at 40lbs). I saw that Consumer Reports article and was certainly surprised how well they rated the Falkens. I was hoping to get the Azenis but they werent' available at the time I bought rims. Pricing was comparable to Bridgestones when I bought them last year in April.
