Factory Wheel Question-- Urgent
No more than six months ago I put some 97+ SE rims on my car and everything had been great. I made the mistake of taking my car to NTB to get a balance, alignment and rotation. Needless to say they f**ked it up and now I have to repair a rim. My question is whether or not the "seats" on the factory rim (the inserts that fit over the studs that sit inside the rim) are replaceable. I've tried the dealer, wheel refurbising places, etc. Everyone claims that the inserts come as a part of the wheel and that no one will sell them separate. Does anyone know where I can get these inserts, or will I have to break down and buy a brand new wheel???

THEY need to buy you a new rim.
and No, as far as I know, the wheel is one piece, the "seats" are part of the casting on the wheel and not replaceable.
you MAY be able to find a wheel repair shop that will fix it, but they will charge enough for you to buy another used rim.
Ummm, check car-part.com and see if you can find a wheel at a junkyard or something.
but NTB owes you a new/good rim because they messed it up.

Matt,
You are right those idiots owe me a new rim. I had to fight with the manager to just get them to replace the studs. His explanation to me was that even though the lugs were over-torqued, that they would have broken going on, and would have broken the thread of the screw so that it would of had to have been cut off. Before I had gotten the car to the shop, the studs had already broken off. I had the car serviced there two (2) weeks before the studs broke off, and it would have been hard to prove that it was just there fault. The managers belief was that the wheels were tampered with, like someone was trying to steal them... Anyway, thanks for your reply. I have been searching junkyards and rim repair shops to no avail so far. I might just have to get a new rim. After all the hassle of trying to sue NTB, etc., it would just be cheaper to get a new rim. It sucks, but the manager aint budging and I'm tired of fighting and riding around with one damn factory wheel!
