I may be wrong but wouldn't it say Bose on the headunit if it was Bose?? Either that or you could look at the speakers in the trunk and it should tell you.

Ok i have a sony HU. but in the manual it says hook it up to only passive speakers. Well the girll covers in the back say active speaker. Will this still work? when i hook up the speaker wire no sound comes out. Whats the problem

If I am not mistaken, the Bose speakers have their own amplifiers built into them and are not compatible with your aftermarket Sony stereo. I asume you have a 1999 or older Maxima? (it doesn't say on your profile).
