blow off valve causing stumbling at idle..help

i know my VQ isn't boosted, but my SR20 is....i recently got the super loud RFL blowoff valve. since it's atmospheric i noticed my motor would try to stall out when i shifted into neutral at speed or rev my motor and back off the throttle. unless i ride out the gear while decelerating or blip the gas to compensate i can't avoid this situation. i was wondering if i could adjust my bov so that it won't cause stumbling when i'm off boost. can anyone help me or will i just have to get used to the atmospheric bov causing stumbling and stalls?

Is the BOV after the MAF? If so you may need something like a AFR or the like to fix the stumbling problem because of the "bled off metered air"...

or try to at least tighten the BOV or use the deceleration feature on the SAFC

i don't have an safc. i have a power FC but no commander yet....i know i've seen the exact bov on an SR20DET with stock ECU with no problems whatsoever. could it be just the spring on the bov??

Could be. Try increasing preload on the spring so that the bov closes earlier after opening.

could it be that i have been foolish in getting an atmospheric bov? i must be sacrificing mpg and driveability just for a louder sound. i was convinced that the atmospheric bov was the way to go..oh well...??

I think that chunger was onto something. Sometimes when the B0V is too close to either side of the MAF, it causes the car to fall of at idle.

Make sure that isn't the problem.

Another possible solution is to use a by-pass valve instead of a BOV.
