For some reason my airbag light came on tonight. . . I didn't notice it before, the only thing I could think of is I dropped my remote and it fell between the front seat and I was trying to dig it out with my hand. . . I might have disconnected something (i have airbags in the front seats)

Now, how can I clear this??? Do I have to take it to the dealership.

 

You can reset it. If it doesn't come back, it was a fake trigger. If it returns, you'd best make sure your connections are secure - can never be too cautious, so battery disconnection might be advisable. If that's not it, then dealership time. Expect major $$$


To reset: (also covered in FAQ I believe)

Locate the driver door switch, covered by the rubber grommet (it's located on the body, not the door) before you start the reset procedure.

Turn the key from OFF to IGN.
Within 7 seconds, push the driver door switch at least 5 times in 7 seconds.
Shut your door (or hold the switch in).
Start the car, then shut it off.

You should have successfully reset the warning light. If it comes on again, you could have a problem.

 

just outa curiosity what is ur mileage ? or when did the light come on approximately?

 

Mine came on at 84k when I took my front grille off, pure coincidence.

 

I got 115K it just came up today and like i said i was trying to dig out my remote from under the seat. . . it was to dark for me to see if anything is disconnected but i'll double check tomorrow and reset the light. . . it is in the FAQ??? I don't remember reading about it . . . i think my job is getting to me. . . and i'm usually the one that says read the FAQ. . .i should flame myself. . .

yep, I already got it. . . .thanks for the responses guys. . . i cleared it and it didn't come back. . . i'll see what happens next

 

I had mine cleared about 3 weeks ago...i hit a mean pothole and it comes back on. I think that AIR BAG light is a ploy for Nissan to ***** more money outta us...hmmm.
