Are we self-absorbed? New car decision.

Hey guys. I totaled my Max on Friday and have been looking at a new car for a few days. The only thing I've really been looking at is the Max... a 97-99 or something. Are we just self-absorbed and think that the Max is the greatest thing since sliced bread or are there other cars out there will give it a run for it's money? Also, if anyone has a 5-speed black on clakc 97-99 SE around OH that they want to unload, I have an insurance check on the way. But seriously, which cars should I look into if it's not a Max? Thanks.

After my 2001 Accord V6 was totalled, I was looking at an 02 Max, 02 Alty 3.5 5spd, and an 02 WRX and also a Passat. bleh.... Yeah the newer cars are faster, but I don't have enough room in the 5th gen Max, hated the low-rent Alty interior, the WRX just wasn't me, and the Passat was nice but not enough under the hood for me stock.

Said screw it all and scored a beautiful 1999 SE 5spd fully loaded with 43k on it for way cheaper used than any of those cars new. Why pay the big bucks for a new car if it's not going to fully satisfy you.

1) 4th Gens rule.
2) Nissan resale is not as good, so they're much better buys used than a Camcord.
