Painting Springs and Anti-Sway Bar
Painting Springs and Anti-Sway Bar
What's the best way to paint sway bar and springs? I was just going to clean bar and springs well. Next lightly sand to scuff it up a little. Then prime them, next a light coat of paint let dry for a few hours then recoat 2-3 times. Will the paint stick or will it just rub off? Anybody try this before. Don't want to waste my time if the paint's not going to stick.
this has crossed my mind as well since my springs are black and i like seeing the colored springs through the tire welll. since i got H&R, i figured i better leave them black since it doesnt drop the car that much.
I've painted my RSB, sanded, primed, painted and clear coated - it holds up fine as long as you don't rub it.
When it was taken off to replace my rear beam, the installers did a "banged up" job of scraping most of paint off the bar.
As Kloogy mentioned, if you want it done right - just have them powdercoated.
