buying an 89 maxima. GOOD IDEA?

Dont get me wrong i love how that gen maxima looks but i've never
ridden in one and I own a frigin neon. So why is the maxima so good
please help me out here. Im getting an 89 max with 230,000 plus miles
on it, 5 speed for $300 dollars, pretty immac shape. is this a good deal?

Personally, I'd rather own the Max with 230K miles than a basically new Neon. Nissan's are just plain made better. If the Max runs at all, it's worth more than $300- maybe more than that even if it doesn't run..How are you getting it for $300???

the VG engine in that car will basically outlast the car if taken care of properly. 3rd gens are really nice commuter cars as well, and will satisfy your typical driving needs in relative comfort

At the very minimum, drive it until it dies (which will be several years if you take care of it) and you will easily get your money back and then some parting it out.

The parts alone are worth what you are paying for it.

Not only that, it's way more comfortable and roomy than a Neon.

its a fact, the nissan is built better, as long as the car was taken care of then you really shouldnt have a problem.
