Have a mod budget can you help me decide?

So I have a budget of $1482 (was 2k but already purchased Tokic/Eibach combo) to mod my 94 gxe. I already have a jwt pop charger and fsb. I am looking to do the following:

- Stage II VB Mod - $325
- Transmission cooler - $120 installed
- Tokico / Eibach instillation - $150
- Warp Speed y-pipe not sure which one. Leaning towards alluminized?)
T-304 MIG Stainless Steel $290 shipped
Alluminized steel $215 shipped
- Brembo rotors
Not sure if I should go flat, drilled, slotted, dimpled? Thinking about flat? Any sugestions?
- Pads
Again not sure what to get. Suggestions?
- Was thinking about getting a cat back done but they are so expensive. Any exaust suggestions?
G-Ready cat back $500+

I was also thinking of getting the Addico RSB but I have read that they break. Not sure I I want to deal with that?
- Addco RSB $129 (shox.com)

Already purchased:
Tikico Blues - $ 294 (shox.com)
Ebiach Pro Kit - $189 (shox.com)

If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it!!
Thanks
Gil

Toss the Greddy Cat-back off your list. It's not made by Greddy any more and it's way to expensive for what you get.

Get the full Warpspeed setup, including the Y- & B-pipe, highflow cat, and a Magnaflow muffler.

Forgot to add in that you probably will want a stereo system.

You'll need some Dynamat too.

I wouldn't bother with Greddy if you are on a budget. WSP B pipe with resonator with your choice of muffler is the way to go. As far as rotors, just get the regular Brembo blanks

My post was just eaten by the server too busy message

Well like I was saying...

I was thinking about the udp, I have read that the install isnt bad.

Also looked at the entire exaust package from warpspeed, but they have has SOO much negative feedback on the org that I am hesistant to make a big purchase from them. Would it be silly to just get the y-pipe and exaust done?

I am already done with the stereo. Still have to clean up my trunk, but you are right with the dynomat. However I am looking at the alternatives instead. Dynomat is a wallet breaker.

internetautomar how much for the magnaflow muffler? Thanks

I know my budjet will go fast thats why I'm trying to be smart about it.

Thanks

go to http://www.maximumtuning.net/
street/strip- greatly quickens 1-2 shift and slightly quickens 2-3 shift to improve tranny life(especially on vehicles with modified engines) Good for everyday driver/weekend racer looking for sreetable performance.

I know it's hard but, sell your gxe and get a VE 5spd. If you can't then don't mod at all.
Not trying to be mean, just telling it how it is.

i have all warpspeed. it works great. is very loud. but is fine. i have magnaflow on that , too, as it comes as a package from them. there is nothing wrong with any of it.

jim90gxe has a point, sort of: a GXE i would not consider modding, but many do anyway. you tend to like what you have.

if all you have is 1400 bucks, then you will not be able to do much. so maximize it: get a CAI, and then do the entire exhaust. that will eat pretty much all of that budget and give you a good deal of power. you may have some cash left for dinner and movie.

I can sell you a CAI that uses the pop charger you have already for 140 plus shipping. that plus warpspeed exhaust is perfect for a free-flowing setup.

PM me if your interested

First of all get the Greddy, nice sound good performance. Get the underdrive pulley, Y-pipe & high flow cat, and top it off with a CAI, that will give you nice power gains. After that you can focus on stylin the car or getting a stereo system.

i don't know how much cheaper it is....but i'd suggest getting brownbread over dynamat. it's much easier to apply and resonates better than dynamat according to a friend of mine who's an audio editor for performance auto & sound mag.

as for mods...a full exhaust and cai is probably the best thing you can do with your modding money. if ya got some money left over you should consider an rsb. either progress or addco.

-Stage II VB Mod- Aaron swears by his VB, so if your not going to do a 5spd swap, get the VB Mod.
-Transmission cooler- You can pick up some nice ones for $40-60, install it yourself
-Tokico / Eibach installation- If you install it yourself you'd save money
-Warp Speed y-pipe- Get the $200 mandrel bend one. Install yourself
-Brembo rotors- Just get the OE replacements from InternetAutomar, no need to get the cross drilled or slotted, and his prices for the Brembo blanks are good!
-Pads- Again, buy them from InternetAutomar. Don't know enought about all the pads to make a recommendation.
-Was thinking about getting a cat back- Aaron92se said he only gained about .10th off the quarter for the b-pipe and muffler, so I'd just leave your stock cat-back on and get a new muffler if you want, or get the 5th gen muffler. Unless it will be a problem, get a test pipe from WSP or LittlePiggie, its $35 IIRC.
-Addco RSB- Sometimes they will break the stock RSB mounts, so while your having your muffler put on, have them strengthen the mounts. Also consider a FSTB ($35ish on ebay) and the ST FSB if you are really into the cars handling.

Update

[QUOTE=94M@X]So I have a budget of $1482 (was 2k but already purchased Tokic/Eibach combo) to mod my 94 gxe. I already have a jwt pop charger and fsb. I am looking to do the following:

- Stage II VB Mod - $325 - Done
- Transmission cooler - $120 installed - Done
- Tokico / Eibach instillation - $200 - Done
- Warp Speed Alluminized steel y-pipe $215 - In Trunk installed this weekend
- Warp Speed Stage I & II Subframe connectors $245 Shipped - Purchased (Install on Sat)

VB Mod does make a huge diffrence. Shifts are clean and QUICK. Think my 1-2 could be better, but Jeff (Maximin Tunning) said it was due to the condition of my tranny. Very happy with the mod. Also had Jeff install the tranny cooler. Guess that was necissary.

Tokico/Eibach's (installed by Jeff) also made an enormous diffrence to the car performance. Corners better ans stops better! Think I need a wheel allignment, but I'm going to wait till Saturday when I get the subframes on. (Cant wait!!)

Also purchased 2 bottles of Auto-Rx and am going through the treatment now. Figured with 144k the engine could use it. Hope this wasnt a dumb purchase.

Next are the Brembo blanks and Axix pads.

I will post my opinion on the y-pipe and subframes this weekend.

Please tell me how well those subframe connectors feel. I'm pretty interested in doing that when I do the rest of my suspension.

I was just looking up posts on mufflers and ran into this on so I guess I will update. I have done the following (surpassed my budget)

Engine/Transmission
JWT PC, WS Y-Pipe, Magnaflow 14829 muffler, VB Mod - Maximum Tuning, Hayden Tranny cooler, Timing advanced to 18 degrees, BlemCo Ground wire kit

Suspension/Breaks
Courtesy Maxima FSB, Addco RSB w/BlemCo RSB Links, BlemCo RSTB, Ebiach Pro Kit, Tokico Shocks, Brembo Blanks (front and back) w/PBR metal masters

Lighting/Horn
PIAA 1500XT Platinum Series driving lights w/extreme white bulbs, Clear corners w/ rewire, Hella Supertone Horns

AV
Alpine CDA HU & Amp / Infinity Kappa Speakers & Sub, 7" LCD & DVD player, Optima Blue Top Battery

I have to say that BlemCo and Internetautomart are great companys to work with! Warpspeed was ok too. Shipping was pretty quick, butI was missing some screws for the SFC’s but I picked them up from Home Depot.

I still haven’t installed the SFC’c, Muffler (just got today), Blemco ground wire kit, or the rear Brembo’s. I am going to try to get the Magnaflow and Brembo’s installed this weekend. I am a bit weary of installing the SFC’s right now because of ground clearance issues. Right now when I go to the carwash the cross member always bumps on the track. I am really scared that this will cause damage. Anyone know if it will? I keep thinking that if I have the SFC’s installed they will get damaged at the carwash. Anyone have advice?

Thanks

You're right, its allot of $$ to spend on a slow car, but its my first car and I paid $400 for it so I figure why not mod and enjoy? I'm sure mine is faster than yours
