its just a gimmick to bring more people in. you think you are getting something for free but if nothing is wrong then why bring it in? at the same time time, im sure if something is wrong then they will gladly repair/replace it for you.

you can visit Nissan's corp. website for all the details...they basically give you a multi-point inspection. and i agree that they are likely doing this in hopes of finding something to fix (to make $ off you).

however, i don't agree with the comments above. i don't see the problem in doing this. who says you HAVE TO LET THEM FIX IT?!

personally, i just did it yesterday. i took it in, they gave it a look around for FREE! and NO, they didn't find anything for me to replace or fix (only recommended that i replace my tranny fluid at 60k).

even if they would of found something they wanted to fix....I WOULD NOT OF LET THEM DO IT! it is your choice after all! i would of taken it to my regular mechanic.

but, a free check out was worth it! don't get me wrong...i HATE my local dealer. but you better believe i'm sure going to stick them for a free check up if i can! i don't see the problem...i was happy to get something for free!

just about any place you take your car even if just for an alignment, they will do a multi point inspection for free. the dealer may be more thorough but i guess my point is you think you are getting something for free but you didnt get anything. its more a pain to drop the car off and pick it back up than it is for me to do the repair myself. they will either find something thats needs replacement or tell you to follow regular service intervals like they did in your case.

very true! of course they also COULD of found that my brake lines were cut the day before and if i would of driven it a few more miles i would of lost my brakes, hit a tree, totaled my car, and been hospitalized for the next year!

again...it is your choice. do it or don't!
