they just want to repair sumthin that aint broke....and keep tabs on your odometer reading...they figure if u come in now with 58,000 miles....later on when your act clutch blows your trans u cant just swap it back and come in and complain with a new gauge cluster that says 55,000
you can visit Nissan's corp. website for all the details...they basically give you a multi-point inspection. and i agree that they are likely doing this in hopes of finding something to fix (to make $ off you).
however, i don't agree with the comments above. i don't see the problem in doing this. who says you HAVE TO LET THEM FIX IT?!
personally, i just did it yesterday. i took it in, they gave it a look around for FREE! and NO, they didn't find anything for me to replace or fix (only recommended that i replace my tranny fluid at 60k).
even if they would of found something they wanted to fix....I WOULD NOT OF LET THEM DO IT! it is your choice after all! i would of taken it to my regular mechanic.
but, a free check out was worth it! don't get me wrong...i HATE my local dealer. but you better believe i'm sure going to stick them for a free check up if i can! i don't see the problem...i was happy to get something for free!
