VQ35DE 1/8th Mile Times

Hey the closes thing down where i am is the 1/8th mile track in savannah GA - unless i want to drive 4 hours from college to Atlanta for the 1/4 anyways my times for my completely stock 2002 maxima, except for the Injen Cold Air Intake <-- was a

9.56 @ 75mph
2.2 60ft time

60ft time could be better i think because you have to roll through a water pit and the way the track is you cant go around it ..

so anyways, is this a good time for an almost stock vq35de? and what would this equate to in the 1/4 about?

i thought it was pretty fun cause i hustled this GT out of 20 bucks because i purposefully ran a 10.3 against a gaylude ( who turned his hazards on when he "won" " and then i ran my 9.56 against the GT... i still like the streets better though

sounds like a great run to me stock. im guessing you would have done a 14.7 or 14.8 at 95 mph in a full 1/4 mph. some of the track specialists will be around sooner or later to figure that one out..

hey great run by the way and way to take down a stang !

- all of those kills were from a stop when i had my cut out installed before the cat which elimanted and was equivalent for the need of a catback/ypipe/muffler or race cat. This was on the street at a place that we race at and its equivalent to an 1/8th about - im getting all those races uploaded soon so you can see them soon.

WRX was a 5spd - and he knows how to launch well - he has a chip and an intake i pulled about a nose on him you would be surprised w/ the torque of the 3.5 - he only got me about a nose or so off the launch

03 Mustang GT - he was a 5 spd and he had been talking mad crap to my buddies LS1 all night but he had just gotten a new clutch and hadnt put the proper mileage on it he had upgraded exhaust, not to much done, and pulleys. i dont see why this wouldnt be a possible kill, i beat one in the 1/8 and he was a 5spd .. anyways he spun in first a little but i spun 1st like hell with this f4g wheel drive but i beat him by like 1.5 cars - we got that on tape

E36 M3 - im not sure what he had he was on the highway and we went from about a 60-100 mph roll, it was a black e36 and i had him by a good 1/2 a car - and also i beat my friends from a dig he has a stock boston green one

3.5 Altima - was a 5spd with intake and exhaust, im pretty sure he didnt know how to drive - this was from a dig

Acura TL-S -

350z - was an auto with a CAI

97ish Camaro z28 w/ LT1 engine - this thing was a peice .. i mean it didnt look bad but it was a crappy auto LT1 with no mods i dont think, i beat him so bad it was funny

^all the above on tape soon

and i REALLY have my doubts that an e36 240 hp car can run 13's in the 1/4 mile there is no way possible, neither can the mustang GT with 5 hp over us and not much torque - and the 350z ---> low 14's

Anyways im going to the 1/4 soon - with 100 shot of nitrous and slicks - which have been ordered so ill be in the 13's too

why rolleyes???

its a fact those cars can all do 13s with a manual.

whether or not people you have seen can drive is another story.

BTW ive heard of stock E36s dynoing 217 at the wheels...........so 240 is not what it actually is.

yesi know that 240 is at the crank but with a stick they arent going to be hitting 13's STOCK unless the guy races profuel dragracing for a career, you might as well tell me that the 3.5 maxima can hit 13's stock with a stick... even though its fwd it has like 14 hp at the wheels over the m3

Things like RWD, higher torque, and "power under the curve" is why the 99+ Mustang GT will own a 6 speed Maxima. 15hp isn't much, but factor in the extra 40rwtq and you'll see why the GT owns. I've beaten quite a few 99+ Mustangs at the track, but that sure as hell doesn't mean my Maxima is quicker. No way. Put me in that 99+ GT (auto or stick) and I'll own any stock Maxima of any generation.

As for the auto LT1 being crap, I take offence I use to own a 94 AUTO LT1. With just a catback it went 13.9@99mph. With intake, chip, modified MAF, and Y-pipe it went 13.4s@103mph. If I would have replaced the crap 2.73 gears with 3.42s, added a higher stall torque converter, and drag tires it would have been a 12-second car. Just because it's a auto, doesn't mean it's slow. When you've got a mountain of torque, having an auto or manual really doesn't matter in the 1/4 mile. The quickest (1/4 mile racers) F-Bodies are autos and the fastest (highway 110+mph) F-Bodies are 6 speeds.
