Custom LED Project....G35 Style Tails!!! ***PICS***

Decided I wanted LED tail lights like my girl's G35 sedan has. I came up with the idea and got to work. Thanks to Sadler for letting me bounce ideas off him and for helping in the design.

Took me well over 60 hours of designing, measuring, cutting, painting, mounting and soldering, but they're done!!

Upper tails have a total of 5 rows of 6000mcd red LEDs. 3 rows are on with the parking lights and 2 rows go on with the brake lights. I used the same concept to do the turn signals and reverse lights using 7000mcd white LEDs. Each have 3 rows of LEDs in them.

Total LEDs in all 4 tails is close to 300!!!

I'll be doing the front clearance and turn signals in white LEDs this week and next.

These look unbelievable in person and make the rear end look very up to date with the new cars. I've had the upper part of the tails done for a week now and I get stopped left right by people. I will not be doing a write up on this as it is just too much work start to finish. These are also a one off, I will not be making anymore sets of these.

Sorry for the crappy quality of these pics. My camera for some reason doesn't capture light clearly at night.

Enjoy!

ive always thought of just using those replacement 1157 LEDs in my tails/blinkers but didnt know how good/bad it wouldve looked but this obviously has to be way better, also looks like the caddy DTS tails

why didnt you go with orange or red for the turn signals? reason i mention is of "legality" issues with the cops and whatnot..

He won't be selling these so don't bother asking. He said that charging $600 wouldn't be enough because of the CRAZY hours he'd have to put in, or something along those lines. But Tony I knew I was right...

Wow... that is just beyond cool. Can we see some daytime pics? Curious how they're mounted and if they look different during the day. Awesome work.

WoW Looks nice Sooooo what you gonna do when they burn out?

If you guys didn't know, he's buying the 5-speed stuff (saw it in the Classified section)

Won't it look nice if someone did it on altezzas (top half of the circle one color and the bottom another color depending on what year car you have )
