just ordered a set of Falken Ziex ZE-512 tires

I know I said no more mods for the car, but this was a must. I needed some new tires for the sawblades. The Bridgestone RE950s served me well. However, it's time to replace them. I didn't want to spend that much on tires, especially since I said I'm not going to mod the car anymore. I don't need performance tires, just some good all season tires. I heard good things about the Falken Ziex ZE-512 tires, so I decided to try them. Plus, they are cheap! Just $60 per tire at Discount Tires, plus free shipping! I will update you guys on what I think of them when I get them.

I'm curious about how these are. I was thinking about getting some myself. You can't beat 60 bucks a tire. I wonder how they will be in snow?

Good question. Good thing I don't have to worry about snow(live in Louisiana). However, it rains a lot. Hopefully, they will be good in the rain.

Everything I read said they were great in the rain. Rated number 1 by consumer reports(i think) Nothing said anything about snow. I like in the middle of Illinois, so good in the snow is a must.

Everyone seems to suggest a dedicated set of snow tires for areas that get a lot of snow. If it's as bad down there as it seems to sound, I would do that, since it's been said that even the cheapest snow tire will grip better in snow than any all-season tire.

Just got them today. Will get them mounted on the sawblades this weekend. I'll update you guys on what I think of them. Good thing I bought these. I recheck out the tires I have now, all four were pretty bald.

I just got the tires put on today. So far...so good. The tires seem to be very good tires. Not noisy at all, very quiet. Nice grip. Definitely worth it, especially only at $60/tire.

No problem. I will post again when I get some miles on them. Also, I like to see how they would do in the rain. It hasn't rain lately, but living down here in Louisiana, rain is something we get a lot. So hopefully they will hold up well in the rain.

Tires are well broken in. Have over 300 miles on them already. And they did great in the rain. Great buy!

Let us know how they do in the snow when you get them on. I know they do well in the rain, but not sure about snow. Good thing I do not need to worry about snow down here.

Cumalot, where did you find the price of $60? I went to their web site, and I got $109, can you show me how I can get that price at DiscountTire Dealership? Thanks!

BTW, the site I am looking for is

The $60 price is for the 215/60/15 size. You have the 225/50/17 size.

Yeah, It snowed sunday but there was no accumulation. I love the tires though. They are well worth the money.

Thanks for the reply. I am either going to get the 512's or the Kuhmo's. Local tire guy has both and I will see if he will let me swap out if I prefer one over the other.

SO Far, I really like the falkens. They are nice and quiet and grip pretty well. They are better than the Goodyear Eagle HPs that I just had. THe goodyears were loud and didn't grip as well. They were good in the snow though. I hope the Falkens do as well.

An update on the Falkens. The tires have about 1500 miles on them already. Most of the miles came from my trip to Georgia a few weeks back. They held up very well. Definitely would buy again.
