Exhaust sound before & after Y pipe....

Since everyone is posting sound clips of their exhaust sound, I thought I would post mine too. Let me know what you think.

Exhuast mods: Ypipe, stock cat, 2.5" pipe all the way back to an Apexi N1. No resonator, and no silencer.

I never knew a 1.6L B16b civic and a 3.0L VQ could sound so similar...

wow, people are brutely honest. its not that bad, if you like it thats all that matters. i like loud exhausts, thats just me.
You say you got 2.5" piping from cat back?? Is that custom piping, or did you purchase a setup from somewhere?
Good work on the video though.

So the piping just replaced the Bpipe right, it goes from the cat to your muffler??? Is it straight pipe, or are they curved like the Bpipe. How much was it to get this done, and what kind of difference did it make. I've been thinkin about doing that lately.......... Instead of buying a Bpipe.

It's a custom bent B pipe. It goes from the back of the cat, to the muffler. My b pipe cost me around 55 bucks to made and installed. As far as gains well it made my engine rev a little easier, but no that much.

Since it's at a standstill the car doesn't sound as bad as it does when driving. Take a few vids driving by the camera. Before you get to the camera it will sound as bad as it does in these vids. As soon as you pass it the sound will be terrible, 100% fart can. I always said tiny cannister mufflers sound like *** on any car but no one seems to listen...

I did my b pipe first with out a muffler and I didnt hear any noise increase with the stock muffler. And when I added the Apexi N1 it wasn't loud at all, nice pleasant sound. Now with the additon of the Y pipe it got hella loud. This is just a temporary exhaust for now. My friend has a muffler shop, so he hooked it up with a custom b pipe.

From what i read the Bpipe is supposed to give something like 6-8hp? The one's for sell are like $200 (Budget) i think. I've been wanting to get a Bpipe to open the entire exhaust up from my CAI to Budget Y to stock cat. Then I just have a weld on muffler. I didnt really want to spend $200 on a bpipe for just 6-8hp. But i would spend $55 to open it all up. I guess the only difference is the resonator????

Then i see pacesetter makeing an entire catback including Muffler for $190????

Hmmm, what to do......

Then why does everyone do it???? Couldnt the $ be spent better elsewhere? It seems like it might add more if the entire system was 2.5".

I personally don't like the loud exhausts...i like the sound of my APEXi WS(because of the low tone) but if you like the louder ones, then that is for you

if your car is stock and you put a bpipe on it might yield 1-2 hp but let's say...you have a intake, y-pipe, muffler, UDP,etc. THEN you might yield some actual HP. The stock maxima b-pipe is not really that restrictive besides the crimp where it bends above the rear axle. It more or less completes the exhaust system.
