Can I run the Alpine CDA-7995 with BOSE?
The Alpine CDA-7995 unit is pretty nice and cheap but doesn't have an internal amp. My question is: Can i install this unit without buying a 4 channel amp by using the factory BOSE amps? I'm not sure how i would connect them because it's for my G/F's car (98 GLE) and i haven't taken anything apart to look at. I would think that all i had to do was connect the RCA outs from the unit to each speakers' amp. ANy help is appreciated... Also i need this info soon because her B day is in a week...
Well, I can tell you this, the bose amps do not connect with RCA jacks. I'm actually going to be trying something similar when my deck gets in, were I splice in RCA jacks to the lines running to the bose amps.
Isnt there some sort of harness that does that ? I dont think you will be able to use ur HUs RCA pre outs thou. I am not too sure how all this bose works as I got rid of that junk the first day I got my car.
My advice will be... if you are going to do one thing.. just do it all (HU, speakers, amp).

I don't think it'll work because you'll be sending the signal from the hu amp to the bose amp. Factory HU has no power so it sends a power signal to the bose amp. You can use the speakers if you run new speaker wires directly to the speakers, but they probably won't last long due to their low power rating.
For those who aren't familiar with this Alpine deck, it doesn't have an internal amp.. it just has 3 RCA outs @ 4volts i think.. After doing some research in the FAQs, i think wiring the Bose amps from the RCAs aren't a good idea because it won't be loud enough according to what studman tried. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=193528
RCAs into the Bose amp works fine, done it tons of times. Cut or tap the speaker leads behind the radio, attach female ends and plug it in. This is not theory, it is fact it works perfectly well without buying any extra adaptors or anything else.

Pretty much the same as when using a $90 adaptor. A slight bit lower in volume, but just as clean with sound.
