Yeah, if you're looking for good equalizers, go for the AudioControl's. I have an AudioControl 4 (4 channel) in my set up. Once these are tuned right for your car's interior, the sound is great! Those in-dash equalizers don't do justice, IMHO.

not trying to say anything...i'm trying to tell you the best route to do it right the first time.

in order of importance.

speaker placement.
quality.
if all that fails and you need a bandaid, then you need a 30 band eq.

if your simply out to bump the bass up then you dont' need an eq.

it really comes down to what your truely after.

PG makes really nice 15 band per channel EQ's, I have one that is a dual channel with 2 30 bands, and anoter pair of 15 bands, they both have everything you could need and great build quality.

He is right, there isnt much point to getting a 5 or 7 band if you really want to do something with the EQ's.

This one wasnt that expensive....

I've been a professional installer since 1987. The best EQ I have ever heard was the PPI PAR 225 (I still use one). It's been replaced by the PAR 245 (no need for DIN to RCA plugs anymore).

This is a very quiet EQ. It's parametric and graphic (paragraphic). Does not sound harsh. It's very natural soundiing and is very easy to use. If sound quality is a must there is no substitute.
