I'm planning on getting ADR Reaction 17" x 7" Rims and I was wondering if they will fit without any modifications. The tire size is 235/45-17

 

they should fit perfect. make sure u get hub rings.

 

if u have abs, make sure ur get the right tires so ur abs light doesnt go off

Just thought I'd let you know that 235/45-17 is actually too wide for that wheel... unless you've been hanging around too many 5th Gen guys or something.

A tire shop may mount that for you, but they'll probably tell you they're not liable.

 

where can i get hub rings? The offset on my new rims is +42

 

So what size tire would you suggest for a max w/ 17" wheels that are 7" wide. Everyplace i go tells me that 235/45 wheels are what i'm suppose to get. I see in MAXFAQ's it suggests 215/50.

 

The Faq's suggest that size because it is, or reasonably close to, the overall tire diameter of the OEM tire. You need to stay close to that because if you don't it will throw off the speedometer ( faster or slower than actual speed depending on tire size ) and send a false signal to the speed cable the transmission uses causing problems with the transmission. If the FAQ's suggest a 215/50/17, that means your overall tire diameter is around 25.1

 

where can i get the hub rings if i need them though? and anyone who has 17"x7" rims, let me know what tire size you use...

 

Usually you tell the company you buy the wheels from what kind of car this is for, and they will (or SHOULD!) include the proper hub rings to mount the wheel on a Maxima. You should definitely get and use hub rings with your wheels if you can. Do you know what hub rings are and what they do?


A 235/45 tire will also mount on a 7.5" wheel, as this in within spec. How it handles is something I have no clue about, but 7.5" is the approved minimum size for 235/45 tires. That's why there's all this fuss about folks putting 235/45 on their 5th Gen wheels and other 7" wide wheels, as it is just out of spec.

 

for a 7" wide rim the max width you should go is 225, 235 is just too wide.
