Rear Suspension Technique Sway Bar
Rear Suspension Technique Sway Bar
I know I should've went with Addco rear sway bar since theirs is way more intuitive to install than ST. However, I got ST for a cheap deal online ($108) shipped directly from ST warehouse. Now, the problem is how do you guys install this thing? Unlike, Addco rear sway bar, ST doesn't have a hole at each end of its sway bar so I could bolt it onto my spindle. So how do I secure it using the plates that came with this thing? Do I need to do any drilling and would the radius bar stood in my way if I had to drill it and mount? Here is a picture of what I got:

Now, my next question is if you look at the left and right ends of this bar:

Doesn't the right hand side looks a little pressed in way too much as in someone might have beat up this bar and ST is trying to rip me off????? Their installation is a piece of SH*T!!!! It mentioned diagram pictures and there were NONE!!! While the plate got 4 holes each (8 holes total) but they only gave me 4 screws total. I don't get it....The check list did confirmed that amount was correct. Does ST have a website or something or they're just not up to date with technology, yet?

1. the right side of the bar is severely bent. it should be angled like the other side (aside from the offset for the exhaust, obviously)
I don't think that's fixable unless you have a tubing bender handy, which not many people do! I'd give the place you bought it from a call and see what they can do. was the box damaged at all? in order to bend that bar like that, it had to have a severe impact from something pretty durn heavy to permanently bend spring steel.
2. everything else is there. when I installed mine, they came with some crappy drawings, but I figured it out.
here's a few pics of mine so you can see how it bolts on. makes a lot of sense once you see it, but not until then.

Thanks for the tips, Matt. I'll call them up and complain to them. I couldn't believed ST even shipped me a badly damaged bar.
Anyway, once you mounted the bar. How do you secure the end of the bar? Does it simply just goes right thru the bushings that got connected to the spindle? Will the ending parts pop out if the car is driven over rough road?

Here is a link to my cardomain page where I took pictures of how the bar should look like installed. The top pics are of the front bar and the bottom pictures are of the rear bar. I hope this gives you an idea of how you secure the ends.

Once it's mounted, the bar isn't going anywhere.
the pictures I posted should clear up any questions you have about mounting. when you bolt the ends down, slide the ends into the bushings (be sure to lube them first!), then bolt them down. they won't come out.
