cleaning a k&n air filter

cleaning a k&n air filter

i have had the filter on for over 10k miles and it is almost entirely black, i think my car is running a lil sluggish because if it... can anyone tell me what is the exact kit that i need to clean my K&n cone filter?? any info would be appreciated.

just go to any auto store and ask them for the k&n kits is like 10 dollars i think. its really easy to clean and yes it will help your sluggishness.

"K&N Recharger" one bottle of cleaner..one bottle/can of oil.

well i got the recharger kit and cleaned out my filter.... a lot of black stuff came out and got it really clean... i tried search but was wondering if anone can tell me how much oil is too much?? i put a good amount so that the filter looks slick with oil, but it is not dripping... does anyone know if this is o.k.. thanks

Only enough to make the entire surface of the cotton red. Like the box says start with the creases wait a few minutes and then go over the white spots.
