My Car is Totalled. (pics)

I don't really want to get into the details, but I got nailed by a Honda Accord going ~40mph. Air bags immediently deployed, and I had to kick the door open to get out. My car is no more.

It's kind of ironic, you know... my car had not been driven for ~3 weeks. It JUST got fixed, with my brand new Eaton Roots Supercharger, and on the way home, It gets totalled.

I hope none of you have to feel what I felt last night. To see your pride and joy, laying in the middle of an intersection destroyed. Over 2 1/2 years and $10,000+ have gone into this car, and now its all gone. I can't explain the emotions I felt last night. Anyways, I am doing better today, I guess I am just lucky to be alive. In fact, I got out scratchless, and the other person is ok too. My neck is a little sore, but that's it.

Everyone stay safe, and don't take your cars for granted. I am now carless for some time, and nothing will every replace my Maxima. I am a little paranoid about driving, although I drove to the store in my moms G35 fine.

very sorry to see this man! i didn't believe it when i saw the title of the thread, was hoping it wasn't real. glad you came out ok, you're very lucky by the looks of your poor car. i hope insurance compensates you as much as possible because of all the stuff you've put into it. really sad to see it all gone, but hopefully something better comes out of this. maybe for the best...

glad to read you're not hurt but sorry to see your max go.

Those pics are just terrible to look at... especially with all the work going into the car lately. Hurts to see it, it really does. Thank God you're okay though.

Sorry to hear that bro. I know it's tough to see your pride and joy all gone, but hopefully there's a bright side. Insurance money should have you thinking about a replacement Like, perhaps a G35 6-speed coupe If not, get a red 99 SE-L 5 speed with black leather and work it.

Be sure to check your neck with the doctor. It may be something minor now, but turn into something major later.

Thanks guys. I thought I would like getting a different car but now I realize I had an absolute dream car on my hands, and nothing can replace. A Camaro or another one of my V8 lusts are a far cry from my Max.

A G35 is way out of my price range, and I won't be getting another Max. It would be way too hard, especially after what I had. I'll probubly get about 6500 for the car in stock form, and who knows with the mods. If they total it stock, I can sell off the mods for like $4000-5000. So my price range is really no higher then 12k, probubly around 9.5k. So A Camaro is really the only car that I want that I could get. No Pimp SUV's or cars.

That really sucks. I know what it's like.. kind of. I had my liscense for 2 wks, and my sister was nice enough to let me borrow her car. I ended up getting T-boned by a Surbuban that was going ~50mph. The massive beast just knocked me off of the road. The a5shole didn't even brake, swerve, or try to slow down.

P.S. Are your red/clears for sale now?

Was it a head on collision or were you stopped. You said you got nailed, so I assume someone else hit you. The car took the damage impact very well. From the pictures, it looks like the car did its job.

If the insurence guy doesn't give a fair offer for the car modded, then the clears along with everything else salvageable will be for sale.

I was going about 4mph, and it didn't hit me *dead* on, I was at a bit of an angle.

holy ****.. that looks pretty bad, good thing you are okay. You're lucky to walk away like that.
I know it must hurt beyond belief seeing the car this way. But it's just a car. Take care and your next project will be bigger and badder than the max was.

Man I am in total shock!

I am very sorry to see this happen. If you are injured you need to go to the Doctor and get yourself checked out. You may not feel the pain now but it will come back.

Thanks man. I was just numb, and literally wish I would have just fallen down dead. But I was in shock, and all the factors that went into play. (just got it back, new supercharger, ect)...I don't know if I want to drop the kind of time/money into another car, i'm too scared too. I will certainly modify it, but I doubt ever to the extent my Max was. It's crazy to lose something like that, but like you guys are saying, it's just a car, and can be replaced. My uncle told me last night at the scene of the accident, to think of it like getting a blank canvus to start over and create another peice of artwork.

Damn dude, that really sucks. I've only totalled one car before (mustang) and it wasn't my fault... it was also a Honda Accord that hit me. I was ****ed because I had just bought the car... had it one month when it got hit, and my parents were taking my payment to the credit union for me at the exact time I got hit. So I can sort of relate, but man, it sucks no matter what way you look at it. Hope you enjoy your next car as much as you enjoyed your Max.

That sucks man. Don't worry about the car though.....Cars can be replaced, but humans can't. I hope that everything goes well with you insurance company.

Won't hear any Craig jokes from me on this one. Bummer, man. Walking away with life and limb is what's most important - everything else can be dealt with.

Good luck on acquiring a new ride - you'll feel better when this happens.

Man, I'm real sorry Craig. But like someone else said, your life is the MOST important, materials can be replaced.

Although you had all that time and $ in your car, I hope you're alright.

Well, i'm typing a paper for school and it's 10pm, and my neck has gotten a lot more sore. Hopefully I can sleep it off.

It wasn't a direct head on collision, but well enough. The girl in the Accord didn't even brake. It was a mid 90's 4 door, 4cyl. accord. It was a 'peice. You know the WORST part? Her car is most likely not totalled. Although her air bags went off, she didn't sustain nearly the damage I did, and her frame is OK. It's pretty sad.

You know what sucks!? I left my old supercharger kit in my trunk, and I shaved my keyhole, and obviously there is no power. We can't hook a power source up in fear of an electrical fire. How can I get to my trunk? Can I take the back seat off to get to it? Is there a switch from the inside that I can reach into by sticking my hand inside the center console?

This all is still sinking in....I won't be leaving the org though...I still have Off Topic....and I'm sure i'll post a thread when I get another vehicle, whenever that may be. Man my neck is starting to hurt....
