Has any one tried running a modified torque convertor on an automatic yet? Anybody run this combo at the track?

In my opinion this would be a great modification since these cars love to be reved.

there are several people on here with a modified TQ converter, but to my knowledge no one has done back to back gains at the track. One member used his gtech and noted a 0.5 second improvement in his 0-60 time. I plan to get one soon, either that or a 5 spd swap.

 

If you're using slicks, a high stall torque converter would be a plus at the track. I have problems spinning my tires taking off at 900 RPM's, nevermind something like 2500 or more. But with the right setup, a high stall torque converter would make for faster launches, no doubt

I now front wheel drive cars have a hard enough time launching, but I was thinking about the benefit of how a high stall convertor has in keeping an engine in the power band. My car really doesn't start pull until 3000 rpm. I am thinking that a convertor would really help the car accelerate in the gears other than first.

I am looking to narrow the gap between our auto's vs. 5-speed's. I think an auto has the potential to be faster at the track given its ability to soften the launch. I have driven many rear wheel drive cars and I am amazed at how an auto can smooth out the launch, yet run similiar numbers(when set up properly).

What do you think?
