Finished my trunk setup today

Well, that took a hell of a lot longer than I thought it would......... After about 8 solid hours, I completed (for now) my trunk.

The floor is now a VERY solid. I used 3/4" MDF with a couple of braces going to the bottom of the spare tire well for support.

The damn wall for the subwoofer took me forever. I ended up having to cut it in two pieces to make it work.

Anyhow, I can now put heavy stuff in my trunk without hearing the flimsy stock wood panel creak as soon as I touch it. Plus the carper I used is 10000x nicer than the stock floor liner.

On the way by Friday..........
Kenwood KDC-MPV622
Sirius Antenna and tuner
Steering wheel control adapter
Elemental Designs 12" A series sub
DEI 1100 watt RMS class D amp
DAVEB GXE dash kit with pocket

That looks tight....this may be a dumb question, but what if you need to carry something long that requires the seat folded down....would you have to take the box all the way out, or does it fold down with the seat?

It sounds okay right now, but its replacement amp and sub will be here Friday.

No, it doesn't fold down. In fact, it is bolted down so that it isn't going ANYWHERE. If I need to do hauling, that's what the Xterra is for.

Yes, it's a 1 cubic foot box behind there.

I don't get too much rattle, but I will get a ton next week when I bump up the power to 1100W RMS.

Thanks!

A starting point is on SEmy2K2go's homepage, but you really have to do everything from scratch based on the size of your box. Mine ended up working out so perfectly that I didn't have any irregular cuts on the top of my trim panel.

Ive got that much, and you better be ready for mad rear deck flex (I am talking about the actual metal deck, not the little flimsy material deck). As for your setup, I think it's really nice, and the fact that you chose a 12A is excellent - why are you replacing it, and with what?

Cant wait for the 12a to show up, I got to hear how that thing sounds

LithiuMaxL: that sub in those pics is a Ed12K...the A-series should be here soon.

Kloogy: Click Here to find a fix for rattles. Im personlly getting the 40sq.ft of STFU 80 I just love that name

That should cover the whole damn trunk and then some, if anything is left ill do some of the floor inside the car with the STFU. The Rattle pad should take car of the rear deck and im thinking a few (2-3) cans of VB-1x spray will more then be enough to cover the insides of the doors. http://www.cascadeaudio.com/prod/vb1x.html

on the rattles. I have 2 10" kicker L5 in my trunk and it's ALWAYS rattling...ALWAYS!!!!! I've learned to deal with my rear view mirror, and I stopped keeping my shades in the sunglass compartment, but there's mass rattle in the trunk and rear deck. I know it's stupid to complain about when I haven't dynamatted, but what seriously is the best solution?

I don't have an e12a... It's a K series. E12a will be here by the end of the week.
