The audio forum is a ghost town and I need answers. Where is the best place to mount crossovers in a 5th gen?

Check my homepage. I've got some pics of them in the trunk.

I'd recommend trying to keep them out of the door to keep them dry. I know the ones I have have ventilation holes in it so it was constantly getting moisture in it.

I am pretty sure there is enough space in the kick panels for the X-Overs.

I have all diamond audio aswell.
I say mount the tweeters in the stock location....only prob is that u will need to hot glue them into place.

I ran all the wires to the trunk aswell. I suggest either doing that or under the seat

Yeah, crossovers in the trunk. Have fun with all the wires. You probobly know this as well as i do, but keep the wire installation clean.

It might depend on what kind/how big the crossovers are. I was originally going to place them behind the kick panels but my mbquart crossovers are just a little bit too big. They do fit but it's very tight. So to keep the front less clutter as well, I just ran wires back to the trunk and I'll just mount it on my amp rack. Good Luck!

The audio forum is a ghost town because everyone asks the same questions again and again and again; nobody wants to answer them anymore... such as where to mount crossovers, lol.

Mine are in the kick panels. Fit nicely. Easily accessible.

A lot of people do the doors, but if you ask me it's more trouble than it's worth. If you don't put the tweaters in the door, then you gotta run two sets of wire in and out of the door. Also there's the moisture risk. And if you ever want to change something you have to take off the door panel to get at them. Bah!

Seriously man. People in the 5th gen forums complain about people not searching, but the audio forums get the same question twice within MINUTES. That forum is in desperate need of a FAQ and/or some moderation...

"What speaker size fits my <insert year> Maxima?"
"My lights dim, do I need a cap?"
"Should I get a new battery, or alt?"
"What's the best audio setup for under <insert limited cash amount here>?"
"I got an install quote at the local shop, am I getting ripped off for <insert rediculous install cost here>?"

Pop them off and check, it's easy. My Sirius FM modulator is bigger than the average crossover. I have it mounted in the passenger-side kick panel. Check out the driver's side & you should be OK. All you need is a few tie-wraps.
