Starting very difficult sometimes/running rough sometimes
Starting trouble.
Symptoms: My 95 Maxima(140,000 miles) became difficult to start about six months ago. On an average, about twice a week, it will turnover for about 20 seconds or more before it starts. The rest of the time it starts right up. Maybe 1 time a week it will stall at a light. It seems to be getting slowly worse. It may be missing at a slow idle. Other than that it seems to run good, although I notice the shifting(automatic) more than I used to. I checked the error codes a few weeks ago by turning the screw on the computer clockwise and then counter clockwise and watching the check engine light blink and recieved 0505. Last night the check engine light came on and I checked the codes agian and recieved 0304 and 0707.
Things I have done: I changed the plugs(NGK Platinum). I changed the fuel filter(bloody knuckle buster). Air filter as well. I haven't noticed any change in behavior.
I see that the codes I received indicate an O2 sensor and a knock sensor. I find it hard to believe that both just went bad at the same time and also don't understand why I wouldn't have had one of these codes when the starting problem began if the two problems are related.
People have told me to change everything from fuel injectors, coils, fuel pump, all O2 sensors and a valve job(@#$%@).
Thanks in advance.

, that's what the org. is for.anyway besides checking the knock sensor, have you check your engine coolant temperature sensor yet? that is also one of the major problem that hesisate starting. knock sensor is the second item you should definetly check it out.
you can look up on the FAQs in the 4th gen forum. basically you just need to get a ohmmeter, locate the engine coolant temperature sensor, test the voltage, and see if it is up to factory spec. if not, you should definetly replace it.
