Those with Greddy Evo exhaust come in

I have the exhaust on my 2k3 and it is melting the bumper. i called greddy and asked them about it and they just laughed at me, very rude of them. saying that it must be my other mods making me run hotter then i should giving off more heat to melt bumper. so they are not going to investigate into this until they see that its not only me with the problem. this item is a direct bolton so it should have been designed with enough clearence to not melt anything. so if anyone else out there is having this problem please post here and we will see what we can get done about it.

improper install? I don't think anyone else has had this problem with the stock rear bumper.

1 week after i put my evo on, with my stillen rear lip molded on, the lip split at the mold and my paint changed colors. the purple metallic inside the grey lustre mix started to come out. when i would push on the pain, the mix would disappear. this lead me to believe that heat from behind the bumper caused. also, the top layer of the bumper was still smooth, so it wasn't a force from outside. this happened over the summer. i had it remolded and it hasnt' happened since, but it's also been winter so that's an obvious explanation. come summer, i can only guess that my bumper will change colors again.

hope this helps you out.

Almost 20,000 miles with the Evo and i don't have that problem.

For the last 1000 miles, the tip actually sets against the bumper and i still don't have a melting problem. This is all from the great y-pipe design of Warpspeed. Just a tad longer than stock and no hanger. I need to get a hanger made one of these days.

i just got my evo2 installed in oct....i love it....no melting as of yet but it does touch the bumper a bit....i got it professionally done thats right no mieneki for me but anyways the only problem that ive noticed is that when my engine is cold then the exhaust make a "rubbing" noise...it sound like my grandpa after a taco dinner....someone i know said that the rubber mounts could be causing this when they are cold...he could be right but im not sure

I have the OBX clone of the Greddy Evo and have noticed it tapping against my bumper when I hit some certain bumps. I havent seen any melting and there doesnt even appear to be any scratches on the bumper from the exhaust hitting it. I need to get it moved down about half an inch or so to ensure clearance. Are there other rubber hangers available to take care of this problem?

My Evo has been on for almost 2 years, no signs of the bumper melting, also no movement of the can during road trips. It sounds like the clearance is not correct, take it to a specialty shop and have them make an a djustment.

I've had mine on for about a year and a half, and no melting. But when I first installed it, the muffler tip did touch the bumper. There's just a minor mark that it left that's hard to notice since it's on the bottom of the bumper and the tip covers it up.

I heard that the EVO2 is the same except it's a FULL stainless system. Man, I wish GReddy wouldn've done that in the FIRST place!

it should only melt if the exhaust is touching the bumper... mine hangs perfectly and doesnt touch... if it touching maye one of your hangers are bent or a bad install...

My evo was touching when i first installed it. To fix it i pulled the exhaust down towards the ground which stretched the rubber exhaust hanger. Then when the hanger was stretched i put in a 1 inch cube of oak in and zip tied it in place. I've had it like this for about 6 months with no problems.
