my friend's max just got his fog lights stolen from him, and im worried this might happen to me. how hard is it for these things to get stolen? can someone just take a flat-head and pop them right out? im really worried about this.....

 

not too hard. get yourself a good alarm, park in safe well lit areas, and pray for the best.

 

im worried about when it's parked at my house, i live in the country and it can be really simple for a theif to get them. a nice german sheppard wouldnt be bad to have about now

 

get a motion sensored light near it for starters. the dog is probably a good idea too. i hope you don't get hit by the same person who got your friend.

 

i kno Piaa makes "screw-locks" for their fogs ... anyone know if they actually work? but.. if you were to 'lock' your fogs into your urethane bumper... a thief could simply rip them out - right?

 

i bet you could rig up one of those shock sensors to it if you're all that worried. i think they only cost $5-15 so could be worth it. i'm suprised people don't do something like that to their headlights, with all the hid thefts.

maybe there's something more to it i don't know about?

 

a rabid german shepard and an armed guard make a great team to ward of any would be thieves.

 

You can get some safety TORX bolts that have a very rare head on them that the everyday thief will not have to tools to remove. These bolts are identical to the ones that bolt our airbags on. They are a star-shaped bolt with a nipple in the middle and usually the tool itself is almost impossible to find.

But, beware, if the thief tries to get the foglights off and fails, they will get mad and do something else to your car.......

u really need a Motion Light right under-around ur CAR/.

or a dog + dog food and maintence on him between races...lol, u could raise ur dog to race in the car and just leave him in there or tie him up to the mirror at night to watch

My passenger side foglamp is cracked. How do I remove it when I decide to replace them?

 

there's the tab on the inner side of the fog. you pop that out first by pulling down from the top. there's a screw behind that. then, once that's out, you should be able to pull it out. they also have two things on the side that hold it in place, but it can pretty much just be pulled out. hope that makes sense, it's late...

 

Go to home depot and bring the screw with you, find on with a similar thread and change the screws to some kind off allen key type thing or some short of star head lookin thing , i had to put some crazy screws after my moms plates got stolen. The lights will still be stealable but thers a big chance the thief wont have his hole tool set with him. Hope fuly dis doesn't ahppen to you like it did to your friend.

 

I used a nut/bolt combo so that you can't just unscrew them. You have to reach behind the bumper to loosen the nut. It was a pain to put them in that way, so it'll be even more difficult to do in a hurry in the dark.

 

I say let them take it. If they want it, they'll take it.

If they can't take it, they'll get angry and you'll wind up with far more damage than a stolen fog light: slashed tires, keyed up car, broken windows.
