I have a friend with a Manual 93 or so MR2, non turbo (140 hp stock). It has intake and exhaust. We went at it about three times during our lunch brake, all from the stop to about 50 mph. I got smoked so bad all times, it wasn't even funny. I didn't expect to win but I thought it would be closer then him winning by 3 car lenghts instantly. I think if I didn't have 3 people in my car more then him, and a manual, it would have been much closer though. Would it be closer if we opened it up at about 50 or so? His speedo goes up to 140 so it must have some top end as well. Damn those light mid engine cars.

Your friend may have beat you, but he couldn't fit four people in his MR2 if he wanted to. I'd be curious to see the outcome if you were by yourself.
