removing fuses from box under hood....and removing fuel filter.

hey yall these are both things that i need to check and replace. ive taken teh screws off the clamp and its not coming off. can i just cut the hose? i dont see why not but thought i would double check. when i put the new on onn do i need to torch the hose so that it seals properly? and for the fuses under hood how do i pull them out...i had a recent thread about how i was messing with remote wires that went to toggle switch for sub amp and now ive shorted something out because clock display is gone door lights are gone and air bad light is on the dash all the time

definitly dont torch anything under your hood

you can cut the hoses off but there may not be enogh hose left to put the new fuel filter on so you would have to replace them

try turning the hoses on the fuel filter with a pliers then try twisting them off

the fuses you are looking for are proboly in the car under the driver side dash there labed on the cover

have you depressurized your fuel system by taking out the fuel pump fuse (in the kick panel) and trying to start the car (about 3 times)?

do this first, then remove the fuel filter and get ready to catch some gas from the lines.

you blew a fuse in the kick panel too. it's the taillamp fuse or room or stop tail. just pull them and check them.

okay yall sorry very ignorant comment. what i was thinking is that there was some kind of additional sealing that was being done because it was such a ***** to get the fuel filter off. its done and im still in one piece.

Ya know we gotz ta look out for our Maxima bretheren...

But to be honest, when I changed my filter, I had the same problem. I just put a bunch of shop towels around the area to protect against spillage, grabbed the filter, and pulled for all it was worth.
