2k2 shaved front emblem *pictures*

Pictures were taken by costcowholesale last night at the Toronto Maxima Club '04 Christmas dinner. In the pics you can see that the huge Nissan emblem is gone, and filled in with bondo. Since its winter I've just left the grill primed and will be painting it glacier pearl when spring hits. The vertical fins in the grill were also removed for a cleaner look. It still needs some sanding down before painting. Let me know what you guys think:

Other things to note:
Yellow lights in clearance/corner lense are 194 PIAA Ion Yellows, PIAA Extreme White H3 fogs with Hella Optilux lenses, Street Glow Gold series, Umnitza angel eyes with blue filter, and crappy winter steelies on Nokian NRW's.

Nice job. Paint it soon. Let's see how nice it turns out. Are you the first to do this?

Thanks guys for all the comments.

It was really easy although time consuming to cut out all the vertical fins and the rounded part behind where the emblem use to sit. I just used a dremel to do this. Other than that, the hardest part is sanding/smoothing down the bondo to make it flush with the plastic.

When I meet up with costcowholesale in a week or so I'll hopefully get some close-ups of it and post them for you guys.

I like the originality of what you did Nathan. Good job. Personally I love the color of the stock grille, and even the fat hamburger for some reason?

Is there any way to mount your underglow further up in the chassis so you don't see the tubes as easily?

The only neon that can be seen by on-coming traffic is the front neon because its mounted to the black plastic right under the rad. However, once I get the MaxTuning lip on it should cover it up nicely.

The side neons can't be seen at all, its just that the pic was taken with the camera sitting on the ground which is why they can be seen. As well, I raised the car up about 1" for winter so they become more visible.

So much for being the only one with this grill

Sorry Polo but I was as excited as you to get this done and showed off. I started this project mid summer but put it on hold until next year. When you finish yours, post some pics!

well you got yours on...i'm still waiting on mine. exactly 3 weeks ago he said "call me up to pick it up"....i've called maybe 10 times since then and everytime it's "left it at the shop"....and i can't go to the shop cause i work nonstop so when i get home, he's already home...how longs it take for someone to bring a damn grill home!!!

i'm more ****ed at him for taking this long to give it to me.
it's okay, at least we dont' have any other grills and will get to enjoy new ones.

oh yeah, i'll still have my stock one, and my debaded one...will you

Looks great. The Nissan badge ruins the front of the car IMO. Maybe I'll have to get off my lazy butt and do this.

how sturdy are those horizontal bars now without the vertical ones behind it? does it create much more flex now for those horizontal bars and would they be more prone to snapping in half?

i do the like the look though!
