have a 2001 Max SE Auto and i've start to notice that the engine is becoming very loud under hard acceleration. The engine is starting to make a very loud throaty sound when under hard acceleration. It was throaty before as well..but it was a quieter and sounded sportier...now it sounds loud. Could it be because of the cold ..this is the first time i ahve this car in the winter and I live in canada....
Does anyone else have the same thing during this time of the year?

 

Yes its because the weather is colder. Colder air is denser and means more air is packed into the combustion chamber. Cars love this. Also comes with a nice deep throated sound as well.
